Smuggler’s Cove, Tortola
If you clear customs at Soper’s Hole, consider taking a short ride to Smuggler’s Cove, on the north side of Tortola. Smuggler’s Cove is the quintessential Caribbean beach, with a crescent-shaped white sand beach and tranquil waters. There’s no dock, so get ready to swim into shore! The water in this bay is calm and clear in the mornings, so it’s a great place for some snorkeling or just lazing on the shore. By afternoon, the currents at Smuggler’s Cove can get a little strong, so be very careful.
There’s no vendors on this beach, and it’s very difficult to get to by road, so odds are, you’ll have Smuggler’s Cove all to yourself! The currents get a little strong, so this is perfect if you want to fulfill that “tropical deserted island” fantasy!
