Words can never capture the essence that is Foxy’s or the experience you’ll have when you go. Foxy’s is the Caribbean’s most famous beach bar, decorated with t-shirts, license plates, business cards, flags, whatever–everyone leaves a little piece of themselves at Foxy’s, and takes a little piece of Foxy’s home with them. Hammocks surround the place. The bar opens at 9:30am, but the kitchen–not til 11:30am. PARTY is the priority at Foxy’s, and while you’re there, you can try one of Foxy’s draft beers, brewed right there at the Virgin Island’s only microbrewery. If beer’s not your thing, no worries–try one of Foxy’s signature rums. The drink menu is purely Caribbean, with signature drinks like the Sly Fox, Sleazy Breeze, and our favorite, the Vanilla Killa. If you’re brave, try sipping some Foxy’s Firewater Rum–delicious! If you’re there on a weekend, they’ll be running the “grillzebo,” a bar-be-que grill the size of a small house. The food that comes off that grill is absolutely delicious.
Foxy’s is great because of the man himself–Foxy Callwood–who is there 9 times out of 10 to tell you a joke (ask him the one about the island dog), sing you a song, or regale you with fantastic stories of his life. Foxy is actually “Sir Foxy” or “Lord Callwood,” as he was honored by Queen Elizabeth II in 2009 by being inducted as a Member of the order of the British Empire (MBE), for his countless contributions to tourism in the British Virgin Islands and efforts to preserve the heritage of his homeland, but don’t call him either, because he’s not about titles. You’ll understand after you meet him! Gather around a table in the sand, climb into a hammock, or poke around the gift shop…whatever you’d like to do!
